THE NOTORIOUS BENEDICT ARNOLD

Page history last edited by RichiesPicks 12 years ago

20 January 2012 THE NOTORIOUS BENEDICT ARNOLD: A TRUE STORY OF ADVENTURE, HEROISM, & TREACHERY by Steve Sheinkin, Flash Point/Roaring Brook, ISBN: 978-1-59643-4686-8

In crafting the story of the rise and fall of Benedict Arnold, author Steven Sheinkin does a stellar job of weaving into the book a series of jaw-dropping, historically important tales I've never before encountered concerning Revolutionary War events. Amazingly, so-called traitor Benedict Arnold was time and again at the center of heroic and oft-successful American war efforts beginning during the opening days of the Revolution.  It can easily be argued that Benedict Arnold was pivotal in the military success of the Revolutionaries. I learned so much from this tale.

For me as a guy reader who has long read for and turned on young guy readers to great nonfiction, this is an action-packed tale of war, intrigue, and treachery that is going to have great appeal for guys.
